Alpha-Bisabolol

Long used in cosmetics for its anti-inflammatory, healing, soothing, and anti-microbial properties. Alpha-bisabolol has been studied in use with fighting against pancreatic cancer and leukemia. A study in 2009 found alpha-bisabolol to have noticeable painkilling and antibiotic effects. The terpene has shown an ability to synergize with other antibiotics, helping them fight bacteria like e.coli and s. aureus. Alpha-bisabolol exerts anti-inflammatory effects by downregulating the expression of iNos and COX-@ genes through the inhibition of NF-kB and AP-1 signaling. It is also considered a relaxant, and aid in depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Aids in digestion and settling an upset stomach encourages relaxation, soothes heartburn and nausea.
